Checking the progress of the 35W bridge
July 9, 2008
St. Paul, Minn. — The span of the new 35W bridge over the Mississippi is almost complete.
Construction crews are expected to hang the last pre-cast concrete segment on the southbound lanes this week. They've already installed the final segment on the northbound span.
While there's still a lot of work to be done, the bridge looks like it's almost ready to carry traffic over the Mississippi River again.
MPR's Tom Crann talked with MnDOT's Jon Chiglo, the manager of the 35W bridge project.
