Speculation grows about Pawlenty's political future

July 24, 2008

St. Paul, Minn. — Speculation is growing among political pundits and others that Gov. Tim Pawlenty could become Republican presidential nominee John McCain's choice for Vice President.

Minnesota Public Radio political reporter Tim Pugmire joined "All Things Considered" host Tom Crann to talk about a Pawlenty event in Bloomington.

Pawlenty, who is a national co-chair of McCain's campaign and has been making appearances for weeks as a McCain surrogate, was in Bloomington to talk about McCain's energy policy. While at the event, the increasingly common question of whether Pawlenty was McCain's choice came up.
