Looking at the upside of pessimism

St. Paul, Minn. — Last week began with a record drop on the Dow and it ended with the passage of a $700 billion Wall Street bailout bill. Now this week has begun with the Dow dipping below 10,000 for the first time in months.

The country's financial turmoil has many Americans fearing for the worst. And, according to some, the nation's newfound pessimism might not be such a bad thing.

Minnesota Public Radio's Nikki Tundel joined host Tom Crann to talk about the upside of pessimism.
